E-prescriptions
After your visit we send your prescription to the pharmacy you choose.

- Prescription sent electronically to your pharmacy
- You choose the pharmacy: near home or work
- Instructions in Spanish on how to take your treatment
- No paper slips to lose along the way
Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud Hammerly in Spring Branch doesn't have its own pharmacy: when the medical team sets a treatment, we send your prescription electronically to the pharmacy you choose. That way you pick it up wherever works best, near home or work, without carrying paper slips from 8538 Hammerly Blvd.
How does an e-prescription work?
- Your visit ends and the medical team settles on your treatment, for example after a urinary tract infection check or an abscess drainage.
- We ask which pharmacy you'd like it sent to; it helps to have its name and its address or phone number handy.
- We send the e-prescription straight to that pharmacy.
- You pick it up when it suits you. If you want to make sure they have it, call the pharmacy before you go.
Why is it better when the prescription goes straight to the pharmacy?
- It can't get lost, wet or forgotten in the car.
- The pharmacy receives the medication name and dose exactly as the medical team ordered them, with no handwriting to decipher.
- You can pick a pharmacy open during the hours that work for you, even if you work late.
What should you mention during the visit?
- Every medicine, vitamin or herbal remedy you already take.
- Whether you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Any drug allergy, even one from years ago.
- Kidney or liver disease, or high blood pressure.
With that information the medical team picks a treatment that won't clash with what you already use, explains in Spanish how and when to take it, and what to do if you miss a dose.
How should you store medicines at home?
Keep them in their original packaging, away from bathroom heat and out of children's reach. Some syrups and suspensions go in the fridge once mixed; the label will say so. Finish the full antibiotic course even if you feel better, and don't share your treatment with anyone else.
If you've switched pharmacies since your last visit, let us know during the visit so the prescription reaches the right place.
