Alcohol & Drug Testing

The alcohol and drug test at Clínica Hispana Nueva Salud Hammerly is for people who need it for a new job, a requirement at their current workplace or a personal matter. At our Spring Branch clinic in Houston, we collect the sample discreetly and give you documentation of the result to hand to whoever asked for it.

Which test were you asked to take?

Before you come in, ask your employer or the office handling your paperwork what kind of test they need: drugs only, alcohol only or both, and whether they have their own form or a list of substances. Every company has its own rules, and showing up with that information saves you from repeating the test. If the job involves commercial driving, also review the requirements for the DOT physical.

What should you bring on test day?

• A current government-issued photo ID.
• The form, order or email from your employer, if you got one.
• The names of any prescription medicines you take, including pain, sleep or anxiety pills.
• Your reading glasses, if you need them to read and sign the paperwork.

How does the collection go?

1. Our staff confirms your identity and goes over the form with you.
3. You collect the sample following the instructions you're given and hand it over sealed.
4. It's labeled in front of you and you sign the documents confirming it.

What if you take prescription medication?

Some legal medicines, such as certain strong painkillers or anxiety pills, can show up on the test. That's why it helps to bring their names and, if you have them, the bottles with your prescription label. Speaking up doesn't count against you: it lets the result be read correctly. If the clinic's medical team prescribed your treatment, it's already in your chart.

It's best not to arrive with an empty bladder for this test: drink your usual water and come to Hammerly Blvd whenever it suits you.
